It was used as a natural light source in lanterns and to control harmful insects in the Caribbean sugarcane fields during the late 1920s. These fireflies diligently safeguarded the precious sugarcane crop — the very foundation of rum production. The Cucullo’s pivotal role as the guardian of rum inspired us to craft this rum as a humble homage, celebrating its contribution to the world of rum.
