We are well-known in the international market thanks to our “Tannat-Merlot” (VCP), a blend that has won “Decanter” competitions and earned the highest ratings from “The Wine Enthusiast.”
We also make an outstanding Pinot Noir Rosé (VCP), which has been recommended in the industry’s purchasing guide by an American magazine.
We sell wines made of Tannat (the emblematic and representative variety of Uruguay), Merlot, Pinot Noir, and Viognier to the local and international markets.
Born of a great passion for wine, rural life and friends, the Hacienda del Sacramento was built.
Patrick Peters-Bühler, a developer and farmer, started planting the land with Tannat and Merlot grapes in the hectares of Colonia del Sacramento, a wine area where the southern sun is received, with the same intensity.
Years of hard work and determination have resulted in the production of the first bottles of delectable wine, ready to be shared with friends, families, or at some other social gathering.
we want customers to enjoy our wines, a rare and unforgettable experience that evokes the happiness of good living
We want to reveal the true flavour of Uruguay’s wine
We are located in the department of Colón, Uruguay, one of the oldest wine regions in the country.
Our resources in terms of wines is amazing, as it faces the ocean.
Since the atmosphere is less severe than that of the rest of the world, the seasons are much longer and have more moderate amounts of humidity.
The soil features clay-limestone and offers small grape varieties and loose berries, creating concentrated, nuanced mousts that underline the character of this terroir in Colonia.
Excellent results in vine planting can be achieved thanks to a mixture of influences such as the maritime presence of the Rio de la Plata and the Atlantic Ocean on the southern zone.
The grapes are picked by hand at the end of February and the beginning of March.
A decent climate provides the grapes with ideal conditions for maturity to grow.
The grapes are carefully harvested, and the wines are aged in stainless steel tanks for six months, allowing the natural cold of the South American winter to help them ripen, resulting in a very smooth and bright red rosé wine with a balanced level of alcohol and tannins.
Awarded Uruguay Premium Wine.
