HOW IS IT MADE – Merser & Co. Double Barrel Gold Rum is a masterful mix of six in moderation decided on aged rums from Jamaica, Barbados and the Dominican Republic. Once blended, this natural, golden, artisanal Rum receives a secondary cask maturation in ex Bourbon, ex Scotch, Oak Barrels within the heart of London for 6 months permitting the other flavours and aromas to softly harmonise for a smooth, delicate end.
THE TASTE – At the nose you’ll to find alluring Vanilla sweetness with flashes of colourful Tropical Fruit and a lovely Toasty Oak character. The palate is mouth-coating, warming and generous with cushy notes of Vanilla, more of that Tropical Fruit and a few Wine-like notes created throughout the cask maturation process. Toasty Oak returns At the end alongside sweet Vanilla and hints of Pastry Cream.
HOW TO ENJOY – Seriously excellent with Ginger Ale, Cola or served in a classic Rum Cocktail such as an Old Shaped or Daiquiri. Superb enjoyed neat at room temperature or with a bit of ice.
