Which light beers has the lowest calories?

low calories beer list

Which light beers contain the fewest calories? Let’s review 12 of the low calorie beers available now to you.

After work, we need a break and are craving some beer; hence our pursuit of alternatives to vodka. Before diving deeper into whether alcohol can be included on a ketogenic diet plan, let’s focus on some great low-carb beers in the UK as our starting point.

Recent years have witnessed an upswing in low-carb and ketogenic diets, so we created this page featuring new low-carb beers you can test out. Beer often gets the reputation for being fattening; however, its caloric intake is comparable with other alcoholic drinks. Drinking beer does not necessitate restricting caloric intake in any way! Dieters who wish to control their weight can choose from among various beers that either do not contain alcohol altogether or boast low alcohol by volume (ABV) content. As consumers become more health-conscious and active than ever before, manufacturers have striven to be more transparent than ever when describing the nutritional content of their product. Brewers of Europe announced in September 2019 their intent to include ingredient lists and caloric intake details on all cans and bottles sold before 2022. Beginning early 2016, Tennent’s was one of the first alcohol beverages sold within Britain and Ireland that prominently displayed nutritional info on its packaging.

Beer’s calories come mainly from its alcohol content; typically a 12-ounce (355ml) beer contains 150 calories and 13 grams of carbs on average; similarly-sized light beer servings typically offer 5g carbs at 100 calories.

As I explore how many calories exist within beers available to UK citizens, I’ll begin my review with those having the lowest caloric counts; my list will then ascend in terms of calories consumed per bottle.

Tennent’s Light has earned its place at the top spot.

Tennent’s Beer, owned by C&C Group, recently launched a light beer with almost the same number of calories as non-alcoholic beers or those with lower ABV percentages, called Tennent’s Light. At just 20 calories per 100ml and at an ABV percentage of 3.5% Tennent’s Light is considered amongst the lightest beers with an estimated total 66-caloric count per 330ml bottle – equivalent to roughly half as many calories than its low ABV counterpart.

Comparatively, Tennent’s Lager has 30 calories per 100ml while an unpasteurized beer with an alcohol by volume (ABV) level of 0.5% has between 16-20 calories per 100ml – both can only be bought through Scotland’s on-trade outlets.

Here we have it – Tennets Beer has come up victorious. Boasting an ABV of only 3.5 percent and offering only 66 calories in every 330ml serving size, Tennets beer might just be your answer to what beer has the lowest amount of calories!

“Michelob Ultra” ranks second.

Michelob Ultralight Beer first produced for consumption by upper class society was first created and distributed as “connoisseur’s cask ale.” Today, due to extensive marketing initiatives Michelob has successfully become the go-to brand among those searching for lighter alternatives.

Zoe Kravitz and Chris Pratt, while being sponsors for events like World Surfing League, Virgin Sport, and Ryder Cup respectively, have appeared as prominent actors in their advertisements.

Alcohol content stands at 3.5% while calories per 330ml total 73.

Last year, British brewery Gen!us unveiled a light beer targeted toward individuals looking to drink smarter. Composed of pilsner malt and three varieties of hops, Gen!us craft lager contains only 79 Calories per can for easy measurement tracking of how much one consumes per sitting.

Number Four Skinny Lager is an ultralight lager featuring an extremely thin head.

SkinnyBrands Ltd and Cameron’s Brewery from Hartlepool in County Durham collaborated on developing this beverage which contains only 89 Calories per 330ml bottle – yet is an eye-opener! Morrisons stores will start carrying it starting 2017.

Thomson & Scott Skinny Lager is the latest lighter beer to hit shelves after the success of Thomson & Scott Skinny Prosecco in the United Kingdom.

“Moosehead Cracked Canoe” comes fifth on our list.

Cracked Canoe lager from Canadian brewery Moosehead was designed specifically to meet the demands of busy lifestyles without compromising enjoyment of beer. Unfortunately, however, this beer seems only accessible in Canada at present; finding it can be challenging in the UK; however I was fortunate enough to locate it via Amazon UK and place an order.

ABV for 476ml Can: 111 Calories.

“Dogfish Head Slighty Mighty IPA” is the sixth beer on our list.

Dogfish Head spent 12 months conducting extensive research and development before going through “months of fine tuning” before creating its Slighty Mighty IPA beer, boasting all of the flavor and character found in world-class IPAs while only providing 95 calories. As part of its production process, monk fruit was utilized during brewing procedures.

Miller Lite is the seventh number.

Miller Lite beer brand can claim to have been created by Frederick Miller as one of the original “light” beers in 1975, becoming popularly known by that name over time. Additionally, one major light beers was first launched shortly afterwards.

Joseph L. Owades first created Miller Lite beer as a biochemist at Rheingold brewery in New York back in 1967 – working there he came up with this innovative formula of 4.2 percent alcohol and 96-calories before passing his recipe onto one of Miller’s competitors, Chicago Meister Brau. They used his recipe for Meister Brau Lite before selling off their labels to Miller in 1972 before eventually relabelling as Miller Lite again after its name change due to legal action from competitors Meister Brau in 1998

Alcohol by volume content of 4.2 percent. Each 12-ounce serving provides 96 Calories.

“Lagunitas DayTime” comes eighth on our list.

Brewer Tony Magee established Lagunitas Brewing Co in California in 1993 in order to share his passion for brewing with others. One year later, Heineken acquired 50% ownership and later that same year Magee became CEO. DayTime Session IPA quickly became one of the lightest craft beers available worldwide – one that remains an ever-popular favorite.

As part of their non-alcoholic expansion strategy, the brewery created “Hop Water,” an alcohol- and carbohydrate-free sparkling water inspired by their trademark India Pale Ale released earlier in 2018. Brewing with Citra, Equinox and Centennial hops according to company claims, this drink promises no surprise as far as flavor!

Per 12oz glass, ABV stands at 4% while caloric intake stands at 98.

Yuengling Light Lager comes in at number 10 on this list of beers.

Since 2001, Yeungling Brewing Company has been crafting a light lager made with Cascade and Cluster hops designed to replicate its flagship beer, Yuengling (the oldest American beer brand). Established by David G. Yuengling of Pottsville Pennsylvania under Eagle Brewery; later becoming D. G. Yuengling & Son. This historic brewery became one of America’s largest once it officially changed name to D.G. Yuengling & Son in 1873.

Per 12oz serving, alcohol content stands at 3.8 percent while caloric intake stands at 99.

Kona Light Blonde Ale is the eleventh beer on our list.

Kona Kanaha blonde ale, hailing from Hawaii’s remote corners, only contains 99 calories per 12-oz drink and features crisp tropical flavors thanks to the use of Millennium, Mosaic and Amarillo hops during its production process. Established by father-and-son pair Cameron Healy and Spoon Khalsa back in 1994 on Big Island of Hawaii by Kona Brewing Company as locally-owned brewery; today this Big Island brewery houses one of the world’s leading craft beer brands: Kona Brewing Company!

ABV of this beverage: 4.2%; Calories per 12 Ounces = 99

Guiness Draught represents twelve.

Guinness may appear to contain more calories than lighter beers due to its creamy top and rich flavors; in reality however, this misperception is false: in reality Guinness contains no more or fewer than any lighter beer, with most often even lower. Traditional beers use carbon dioxide alone for carbonation while Guinness employs both CO2 and nitrogen for carbonation for its dark hue and sweetness, lending this creamy texture its unique creamy mouthfeel compared to standard CO2 carbonation systems; there are only 125 Calories per 12oz Serving!

ABV of 4.2% per 12 ounces. Calories per 12 ounces: 99

So far we’ve only come up with 12 low-calorie beers I’ve discovered.
